The Jeep Wrangler's engine options have proved time and time again that drivers can depend on the power and capability they provide. The 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine continues to be the Wrangler's standard engine in 2024, offering 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine is optional, providing select Wrangler trims with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This turbocharged engine was paired with an engine-mounted electric motor and a transmission-mounted electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery pack to create the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid lineup. While maintaining 49 MPGe, the Wrangler 4xe offers drivers 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of near-instant torque. Meanwhile, the Rubicon 392 comes exclusively with a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that lays down 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. While the 2024 Wrangler comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission with the V6 engine, while an eight-speed automatic is optional. Meanwhile, the turbocharged engine, 4xe models, and Rubicon 392 come standard with the eight-speed automatic. In addition to the Wrangler's three engine options, 4x4 is standard for all trim levels in the form of three different 4x4 systems. 

As always, the 2024 Wrangler comes standard with 4x4. However, this isn't a one size fits all kind of thing. Jeep offers drivers four different 4x4 systems for the 2024 model year. Standard equipment with the V6 engine is Command-Trac 4x4, which drivers can shift from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive with 4-HI and 4-LO modes on the fly at up to 55 MPH. Meanwhile, Selec-Trac 4x4 comes with the turbocharged, 4xe, and Rubicon 392 models. Selec-Trac offers excellent control and capability by operating in 4-HI at all times unless the driver chooses 4-LO. The third 4x4 system for the Wrangler is Rock-Trac part-time 4x4, exclusive to the Wragler Rubicon. Rock-Trac's transfer case has a low-range gear ratio of 4:1. This means that when the transfer case is in 4-LO mode, for every four rotations of the transmission output shaft, both axles will turn once, providing better low-speed crawling control with higher torque at low speeds. Lastly, Rock-Trac full-time 4x4 provides the same capability as the part-time Rock-Trac transfer case, except it uses a full-time automatic transfer case for full-time four-wheel drive control.

Jeep fans and onlookers alike can pick the Wrangler out of the crowd because of its design, that has withstood the test of time. That design, with its removable top, removable doors, vertical seven-slot grille, and circular headlights, is emblematic of the Jeep brand. Instead of redesigning the vehicle completely, Jeep took all the aspects that make it instantly recognizable and kept them while making subtle changes. A great example of this is the grille. The design has remained for decades, and you don't have to be a Jeep enthusiast to recognize a Wrangler with a grille this iconic. However, the grille of the 2024 Wrangler got some subtle updates for more style without changing the design. The primary color scheme of the grille includes Neutral Gray Metallic bezels, a body-color surround, and black textured slots. But throughout the lineup, you'll find slight variations. An example of a slight variation is the Willys trim, with its Gloss Black surrounds and bezels, or the Sahara, with its body-color surround and Platinum Silver bezels, or the High Altitude, with Neutral Gray Metallic bezels and Gloss Black surrounds. The all-new Rubicon X trim features an upgraded front end with steel bumpers and a steel grille guard for an even more rugged look. Another new feature for the 2024 Wrangler's exterior is the removal of the steel mast antenna, which was susceptible to getting snagged on branches while off-roading. Instead, Jeep replaced it with a stealth antenna integrated with the windshield. Lastly, all trim levels of the 2024 Wrangler come standard with a horizontal 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen.
