You might be hesitant to take a road trip with your kids in
tow, so why not start off small? There are so many great places to
visit near Philadelphia that are only a short car ride away- the perfect trip
length for a toddler or kids of all ages! All of these places are fun
for the whole family and very doable day trips.
Â
Â
1. Nockamixon State Park - located in northern Bucks County,
Nockamixon is a great place to go on the weekends! There is a huge
lake you can take you boat out on, or rent a boat, canoe or kayak.Â
There is also a swimming pool (open seasonally), biking trials, picnic areas as
well as plentiful hiking trails. You can also rent a cabin for the
night, if you want to make it more than just a day trip!
 Â
2. Knoebels Amusement Resort - Knoebels is a little further
of a drive but it is a really fun place to go with the kids! The
amusement park area has rides for kids of all ages, even a train ride suitable

Â
3. Linvilla Orchards - Linvilla is a very short ride from
Philadelphia and has fun things to do year round! There are many

"Christmasland" where you can cut your own Christmas tree.Â
And don't forget to grab some of their delicious apple cider donuts! Â Â
4. Bushkill Falls - its about a two hour drive to Bushkill
Falls from Philadelphia and so worth it! It does cost money to get
it, but there are hiking trails all around and over the various
falls. The trails are very well maintained wooden trails.Â

trails! There are trails for various skill levels and all have
wonderful views of the various falls.
