The Consumers Digest recently named the 'Best Buy' vehicle awards for the 2016 model year. The Jeep Renegade is a brand new model and this was the first year that the Renegade ran as a contestant in the lineup and it won a 'best buy' award in the Subcompact SUV segment.Â
The Jeep Renegade was the only vehicle this year to come out of the first phase of the evaluation process as a Best Buy according to Editor-in-Chief of Consumers Digest, Rich Dzierwa. In order to win a 'Best Buy' title, a vehicle must deliver the most value for money within their segment. Value is determined by price and ownership costs as well as comfort, utility and performance. Editors at Consumers Digest take the time to drive and evaluate each vehicle in a variation of settings. The conditions at which the vehicles are evaluated are set to test acceleration, fuel economy, styling, ride quality, interior ergonomics and fit and finish.Â
The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, Chrysler 300, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500 are all FCA US vehicles that were named as a 'Best Buy' in their segments for 2016 by the Consumers Digest. These segments included Sporty cars, Mid-size SUV, Full-size SUV, Subcompact, Luxury Cars and Subcompact SUVs.Â
In addition to the 'Best Buy' awards, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is also the most awarded SUV ever and has won several other awards this year on 2016 models.Â
