There are four models of the Wrangler: the Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and the Rubicon. The Wrangler can, by design and wild popular demand, easily remove all its doors with the exposed hinge design, and a 4th-gen Uconnect system is either 7- or 8.4-inches (standard 5-inches for Sport). It incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, pinch-and-zoom, and more! The Sahara and the Sport can also mutually have an obtainable Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential that proposes supplementary torque and grip in low-traction settings such as sand, snow, or mud. The Rubicon and the Sahara both allow a revolutionary feature, the Sky One-Touch Powertop that retracts or covers the top of the Wrangler with a button touch. That works either way up despite the Wrangler traveling up to 60-mph! Those models interestingly match with revised suspension tuning, electro-hydraulic steering, and a longer wheelbase than ever (which translates to more rear passenger room and other trail-conquering benefits). The 33" BF Goodrich KM All-Terrain tires (optional) on the 2019 Wrangler Rubicon model characteristically says it all, but the Rubicon also brings to bear items like next-gen Dana front and rear Heavy-Duty axles, electric front & rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar, off-road rock rails, and an incomparable 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio within the Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case. The Rock-Trac also empowers an 84:1 crawl ratio in conjunction with the 6-speed manual transmission! That should whet your appetite for a moment, let's move on to safety and other items of interest!

The core of all the power and torque can be a 3.6L V-6 engine with ESS that gets 285-horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. That engine sees a standard 6-speed manual transmission matched up to it but there is also an 8-speed automatic possible to install. Further, look for the all-new mild-hybrid 2.0L turbo-4 engine with 270-horsepower and 295 lb-ft torque (utilizing eTorque) that works well with the 8-speed automatic transmission. Both engines (with either transmission) can tow up to 3,500-pounds, more than enough for a weekend outing in the woods!

Motor Trend considers safety high priority in its thorough testing of vehicles for this award, and the Wrangler shines in 2019. Standard on the Wrangler is a set of airbags, electronic roll mitigation, and electronic stability control (ESC). Actually, there are over 75 options for safety & security features, containing items such as Hill-start Assist, trailer-sway control, and brake traction control.
