2017 Dodge Charger at Reedman Toll Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Jenkintown 

For 2017, the Charger's optional 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen has been built for high resolution, quick startup and efficient operation, and overall performance-- particularly within the navigation screens. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also put into the 8.4 Uconnect for 2017. On Charger models with the 5.7-liter V8 engine, there is a new active exhaust system, and also, the new forged wheels for the SRT Hellcat are lighter by design. The government said after testing that the Charger earned the highest possible five-star overall crash test rating! The Daytona model makes it back into the Charger lineup for 2017. It's possible to obtain with a 5.7-liter engine, and the Daytona 392 model comes with a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The Daytona model has specific styling developments and interior trim changes, premium brakes, and wider tires.

Under the Charger's Hood

The SXT and SE use a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with VVT that makes 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and those exact models also have AWD drive as an option (others are RWD). Rear-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission are standard on every Dodge Charger. The SRT Hellcat sees a 6.2-liter Hemi supercharged V8 engine that certainly gets noticed with its 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. In Edmunds brake testing, the R/T Scat Pack model stopped from 60 mph in 111 feet. In Edmunds testing, it went from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Also phenomenal, the SRT Hellcat model performed excellently on the brake test, with a measurement of 103 feet. The R/T Scat Pack and both 392 models have a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with VVT good for 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. A 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with VVT that gets 370 horsepower and spins 395 lb-ft of torque is found within both the R/T and Daytona models. 

Design of Dodge Charger

The 2017 full-size sedan Dodge Charger comes in 8 core models: the SE, Daytona, Daytona 392, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, SXT, R/T, and the SRT Hellcat. The Charger has an optional 8.4-inch Uconnect interface that utilizes well-planned layout, electronic buttons, and an easy menu. On that point, the 5-inch Uconnect screen in the base SE model works well to consolidate the dashboard. The SXT puts on 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, an additional USB port up front, an auto-dimming mirror, LED foglamps, heated mirrors, and the 8.4-inch touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for smartphones. Standard features on the SE model are front and rear USB ports, 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, keyless entry/ignition, and a 6-speaker media player interface & audio system with an aux audio jack. The R/T model's items are similar to the SXT but rolls in 20-inch wheels, transmission paddle shifters, a sport-tuned suspension, and strong brakes. Adding to that, the Daytona model has an exclusive tuned performance suspension, forged alloy wheels, and a few of the Premium Group's items. The R/T Scat Pack installs rear parking sensors, a high-performance suspension, power 8-way front seats, performance brakes, and a rearview camera. The Daytona 392 cherry-picks the R/T Scat Pack and the Daytona model's items and also keeps the brakes on par with the engine levels brakes. A 19-speaker audio system by Harman Kardon is an option on the SRT 392 and the SRT Hellcat. The SRT 392 offers as an option the Technology Group, then that model takes off with features like a steering wheel with a racy flat-bottom, an adaptive suspension, all-leather upholstery, forged alloy wheels, both blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems, xenon headlamps, and the Uconnect navigation system. The SRT Hellcat adds to the SRT 392 feature set with additional tuning for the steering and suspension, a V8 that is supercharged, and a large laundry list of excellent items! The trunk comes in at 16.5 cubic feet. Standard (on every Charger) is an acoustic windshield and acoustic front-side windows.

Yes, it can! The new SRT logo steering wheel is made with LED illumination in red or white, in the SRT Hellcat & SRT 392 models, respectively!


Standard safety features for the Charger are composed of stability and traction control, steering wheel mounted sound controls, antilock disc brakes, 'Tip Start' (prevents over-cranking the ignition), daytime running lights, side curtain airbags, an anti-theft 'Sentry Key' engine immobilizer, a driver knee airbag, front seat side-impact airbags, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Available as well are a lane departure warning and intervention system, a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, and an adaptive cruise control (with forward collision warning & mitigation system that uses auto-braking). These forward collision warning and automatic braking systems were awarded a 'Superior' rating in government testing. There are both a rearview camera and rear parking sensors available on certain models (if not found standard).
